iDeneb on Asus P5W DH DELUXE

This post is for iFred who has requested how to install iDeneb. 

First get all your bios settings correct as per previous post, then start up from dvd. Once in the setup partition your drive “GUID”. Once in the customize installation menu select as follows.

Audio – ALC882

Chipset – ICHx Fixed

Kernel – Vanilla

Video – As per your video card

Install and away you go………….. :-)

Get PhotoBooth working with third party webcams and macam :-)

Ok since 10.5.2 most third party webcam’s have been unusable with photobooth and macam. So here is what we do to get around this. Delete your PhotoBooth application from your application folder, download this photobooth application here, unzip it and place it in your apps folder. connect your webcam and hey presto.

What you should check in Jas 10.5.4 client/server installation

If you use bios settings as described in my last post then you can get vanilla install with following boxes checked -

Osx86 server 10.5.4 Intel SSE2 SSE3 (if wanted, make sure you have valid serial number).

No kernel packages should be checked.

Intel-ICHx should be checked in Chipset Drivers.

No Older Drivers should be checked.

Video card driver should be checked according to your video card.

No Network Drivers should be selected.

ALC882 should be checked in Audio Drivers.

No Plugins should be checked.

No Device Identification should be checked.

Smbios-MacPro should be checked in SMBIOS.

Cleanup should be selected ( I have no idea what this does, please comment if you know)
